This Is My Friend
My friend quit at my job. He was my tech and lead. He was essential to me, a part of my every day at work. He fixed my machine and was very respectful. I also had fun working with him.
When my friend quit, I felt a big loss, empty without my friend.
So I took a risk, I asked him to be my friend on Facebook. He accepted. From then on we carry on like we're still coworkers. Joking around, play games, and discussing life.
I tell my friend all the things that happened to me at work. He gives me advice and encouragement.
I had a performance review, it was a good review but...
I was blamed for some quality issues.
I was also passed over for a raise.
I told my friend everything that was going on.
One night I was feeling really down about my job, didn't feel going to work anymore. An idea popped into my head. Maybe I should find another job?
I get home from work to find a message from my friend...
"Hey if your looking for a job like KMC . I work at a new job being a robot operator and they have all the machines that kmc has and more....... they are hiring for all shifts 1, 2, and 3rd...... check out WI STAMPING ....... great environment, fun people"
It was like he heard me thinking. I wonder if he sent the message the same time I thought about looking for a better job? (He used to show up out of nowhere when we worked together, just when I needed him to fix my machine, just when I thought about asking him.)
I applied to the company my friend recommended. I had a phone interview. I told my friend about the interview.
His response..
"I’m gonna bring it up to them on Monday about your interview"
I thought my friend would forget what he said he would do.
Surprise...
"I talked to my boss, he said he wasn’t convinced but I changed his mind and told him that I wouldn’t put my neck out there for someone that I know wouldn’t work. I told him your a hard worker and that you always hit your numbers and everything so when this virus gets contained somewhat then he’s gonna call u so hang in there at AAA."
Now if this virus would just go away, so can see what happens next.
I can't believe my friend did something so nice for me. My friend gave his boss a personal recommendation for me.
I work hard at my current job and I deserve to be paid better. My friend is an actual witness to my work ethics and character.
This relationship is working in mysterious ways. Like my friend was meant to be in my life.

Fried Potatoes/ Recipe
Some of the ingredients in this recipe came from my Imperfect Produce box.
4 medium potatoes, boiled and sliced
1 leek stalk, sliced
1/2 red onion diced
First, I fried 4 slices of bacon. I removed the cooked bacon. I added the leek and onion to the bacon drippings. Fried the onion and leek until limp. Broke bacon pieces in the potatoes. Added the cooked potatoes.
I added 3 tablespoon zesty pickle juice and a squirt of whole grain garlic mustard. Let the mixture blend and cook. When the potatoes are soft it's done.

I saved the juice from pickles. I use it when I make egg salad, deviled eggs, potato salad, or anything I can think up.
I do the similar things for ketchup, salsa, salad dressing, BBQ sauce, etc. When the container is nearly empty. I put a little water in it. Shake the container to get all that remains. I collect the remnants in one container. I use it for cooking meats or whatever comes to mind.

Oh No,👂 Air Hose 👂
This is a story about an incident at work, that gave me PTSD with air hoses.
This about an air hose that is used for pneumatic drills or tools.
It all started with an air hose that was casually wrapped around post. It was near the end of the shift, I was just standing by a work cell. I saw the hose. I thought it was a water hose. I pretended to hose down my coworkers.
I asked my coworkers, why was the hose there. I thought it looks out of place. I had in mind to inform the team leader. I forgot.
Couple of days later. I'm working in my own work cell. It was just before our morning meeting. The team leader came out for the meeting. All of the sudden, he's running towards the value stream. He's yelling and in emergency mode.
I was too far away from what was going on behind me. I looked back, I see an air hose swinging back and forth wildly between 2 value streams, maybe a distance of 500 feet.
Here, it was that hose I found earlier.
The hose was live. The set-up person ran into the hose, opening the valve.
From all the witnesses, that hose hit the girl, and knocked down shelves of instruction manuals. 2 people ran in there where the girl was, while the hose was still whipping around.
The team leader was trying to stop people from going there, so they wouldn't get hurt too.
Here, all they had to do was turn off the emergency switch. Then go help.
That became an emergency morning meeting for all departments. The team leader asked, " Does anyone know where the emergency switch is for the air is?". Only a few knew where to find the switch. Each department took the time to learn how to find the emergency switch.
The team leader made us think about what else could have happened. That air hose had a metal pipe on the end. The air pressure could have launched the pipe like a missle. It was swinging wildly, with speed, and great distance.
Ever since that incident, whenever I hear an air hose blowing, I looked to make sure that hose didn't burst and the operator isn't in trouble. I look up too, make sure it's not happening again. It could be any minute an air hose is ready to blow. It happens when the hose gets worn down.
I have seen it happen with a drill, with a sharp drill bit on the end. Drills are heavy and bits are sharp. When an air hose bursts, the gun would be whipping around. The gun could hit someone in the head. The drill bit could stab or poke.
I still freak out when I hear air hoses hissing or blowing. Because I saw all the damages this air hose caused and saw it whipping around.p

Keeping Myself Amused on the job.
Ways I amused myself at the canning factory. I played with the machine.
The cutting machine, had a safety switch, preventing your hand from getting dragged into the machine and getting cut up.
The noise was very loud in the cutting room and I would be too busy working to notice if I hit the safety switch with my hand or a piece of corn hit it. I would be working really hard, then suddenly I notice the machine had stopped.
Another reason the machine would stop, was because of too many corn husks. Corn husks get wrapped up in the cutting mechanism, and it stopped working. I would have to clean out the blades. Sometimes the helpers come by with a knife to cut the husks out, or they put the mechanism in reverse to unwind the husks.
Another reason why the machine might stop working is, because main the safety stop switch was behind you. Anyone could walk by and hit the switch. That's a good trick to play on a coworker. It happened to me and I did it right back. The noise in the room is too loud to notice that the machine quit. It's funny to watch a person finally realize it.
I was too busy, too tired, and I couldn't hear the machine quit.
The trick I played on some of my coworkers, I threw a piece of corn at their safety switch in front of the machine. It was just a spring in front of the cutting machine's opening to the blades. I watched my coworkers work, then realized that the machine stopped. I watched them open the machine to find out what went wrong.
Then I found out that there were water jets inside the machine, to help corn and husks from getting stuck. I found out that I could adjust the water jets. 💡, I came up with another brilliant idea of trouble for the helper, who also came up with ideas for paybacks.
I adjusted the water jets so they would spray straight up. I would signal the helper, I needed help with the machine. He would come to open the machine, get sprayed in the face. Oooh, that was a good one!!!
I had to learn how to keep too many husks from sneaking into the machine too. That was the supervisor's advice to me. But it happened no matter how hard I tried to stop it. Happened to everyone.
Funny thing is, I learned a lot about the machine, just from all the horseplay. The machine was stopped at all times during the incidents. The only injury that could have happened was a nick to the fingers from the blades, which everyone gets from trying to clean the blades.

I received some lemon ginger flavored, apple cider vinegar in my Vegancuts, March Vegancuts snack box.
I tried to find more info on drinking apple cider vinegar.
I didn't get as much information as I hoped on Vimin.
I did enjoy the lemon ginger apple cider vinegar. The blunt sour of vinegar wasn't there. Very interesting. I can imagine using this vinegar for other things besides sipping.
